DSTV is the
most commonly used part format in the construction industry. We have made a
large number of improvements to this format allowing you to import safely parts
in DSTV format from 3D construction programs such as TEKLA©, BOCAD©, GRAITEC©,
PROSTEEL©, STEELOFFICE© etc..
Drawing
that contain complex proxy elements could be missing crucial information. For
this reason PROfirst will now output a warning to let you know when the drawing
contains proxy elements.
The unique
part clean-up function in PROfirst has been constant fine tuned during the
lifetime of the version 8 making sure that it produces great results with all
sorts of complex customer drawings
You can now
define 2 colours to be used for cutting contours and for marking contours. This
is very common in parts for ship building. Remember that you need to define the
colour both in the CAD module and the
PDF files
are being used more and more. Most PDF files are now output directly by CAD
programs and are vector PDF containing lines and arcs. Vector PDFs can be automatically converted. PDF files from scan or
faxes cannot be converted.
To convert a pdf file use File Open Set File
type to *.pdf and then select the pdf
file.
WARNING: Remember
that PDF is not an exact format for cutting files and all dimensions must be
checked. Normally you must always rescale the pdf to
the correct dimensions
The CA function
will smooth a circles consisting of lines into a single complete circle.
PROfirst
can read and save parts in GEO format used by Tops from Trumpf.
Impürovements have been made for the current version
of Tops.
Automatic
nesting has been constantly optimised in the version 8. It is now much faster
and produces better results with less waste
The setup for the automatic nesting makes a big
difference to the speed and quality of the nesting. This has been greatly
improved to make it much easier to select the correct setup for the nesting job
in hand.
The automatic selection of pairs of parts with
common cut has been improved to select only combinations that make a good impriovment to the nesting and cutting time.
A simple csv, excel or txt file can be used to generate a nesting
job with part names, quantities and order numbers. It is also possible to
automatically import the parts from this list of DXF files. This really makes
sense when all parts have already been checked within the company. The parts
can be automatically imported with thickness material type and all relevant
part data.
Even the property
“Allow automatic rounding of corners” can now be set on parts when importing a
nesting job using a CSV, TXT or excel file.
